Climate is key topic in Mexico-Caricom summit

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto inaugurated the third Mexico-Caricom summit, held in the coty of Mérida in the state of Yucatán.

One of the key topics to be discussed between leaders of the Caribbean community's 15 nations is climate change, due to its importance to the region and its effects on tourism, agriculture and fishing.

The event will be held at the same time as the sixth gathering of the Association of Caribbean States, who will discuss topics relating to the promotion of trade,sustainable tourism and connectivity in the region.
