Monday, February 4, 2013

Costa Rica's CNFL power utility has budgeted $30 million for the construction of a wind farm in San Buenaventura in Montes de Oro, Puntarenas.

Dennis Mora, from the Department of Engineering for Generation Projects at CNFL, said the plant will generate 32 gigawatt hours per year, which could supply 3,000 to 4,000 homes or about 12,000 people.

CNFL announced the start of the bidding process for the company that will handle construction on Friday, in the government’s official newspaper. The bidding process should be completed in the next three months.
