Coffee output likely to suffer from climate change

Tuesday, July 25, 2017

The production of coffee around the world, including Central America could be affected by climate change, stated experts and authorities in Colombia, which also warned no country is ready to face these problems.

Because of how sensitive coffee plants are to small fluctuations in temperature ,as the temperature goes up this will affect coffee production which in the past few years has been overtaken by demand.

According to the 2016 report of the Australian Climate Institute, by 2050 the land available for coffee production could be halved due to the raise in temperature, which also causes an increase in plagues, fungus and other diseases.
