Colombia and Indonesia pledge to boost bilateral ties

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

Colombia and Indonesia have agreed to improve bilateral ties with the opening of the Colombian Embassy in Jakarta in 2011 after being served through a third country for eight years, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry said in a media statement.

Colombia and Indonesia had been appointed co-chair country coordinator of the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation, FEALAC, which will hold its first joint commission session in Bogota in mid-2013.

Colombian Ambassador to Jakarta Alfonso Enrique Garzon Mendez said numerous agreements had been signed during 32 years of diplomatic relations, including on education, trade, economics and engineering for mutual benefits.
