Colombia approves South Korea trade accord

Colombia's Congress has approved a free trade agreement with South Korea.

The accord is of particular benefit t the agricultural sector, as South Korea is an important buyer of those products, said Colombian Trade Minister Cecilia Alvarez.

South Korea exports to Colombia mostly car parts, cars, machinery and technology, and said it hopes to increase trade with Colombia by $1.7 billion over the first decade of the agreement.
