Colombia fines Carlos Slim telecoms firm

Friday, September 6, 2013

Colombia's antitrust regulator fined Claro, a unit of Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim's Comcel, for $45 million.

The regulator said the fine was for abuse of a dominant position in the market, as well as affecting competition.

The fine is the largest ever for a telecommunications company in Colombia.
