Colombia's Nutresa acquires $384 million burger chain

Friday, November 28, 2014

Grupo Nutresa, the Colombian food producer that has made at least 18 acquisitions since 2000, has a new addition: the local hamburger chain El Corral.

Nutresa, already the biggest Colombian food producer with products including Zenu cold cuts and Jet chocolates, will also become the country’s largest restaurant operator after the deal, according to a regulatory filing.

Nutresa agreed to buy Aldage Inc., the company that controls El Corral, in a $384 million deal, according to the filing.
