Colombia's Nutresa buys AFC for $110 million

Colombia's Grupo Nutresa, based in Medellin, announced the $110 million acquisition of Panama's ice-cream company American Franchising Corporation.

Grupo Nutresa is a food company with offices in 12 countries in the region and exports to 74 countries in the world.

"AFC is one of the Central America's leading companies in its category, and will contribute greatly to Nutresa's profitability", said Grupo Nutresa in a statement.
