Colombian banks hold key to El Salvador

Colombian banks have expanded their presence in Central America, and now control 53 percent of El Salvador's financial system.

The three banks with the strongest presence in El Salvador are Davivienda, Bancolombia and Banco de Bogotá.

The strongest of the three is Bancolombia, who acquired Banco Agrícola for $900 million in 2006.
