Colombian minister brushes off inflation fears

Wednesday, August 5, 2015

The plunge in the Colombian peso doesn’t pose a serious risk to the nation’s inflation target and consumer price rises will slow as the economy cools, Finance Minister Mauricio Cardenas said.

“We expect that with slower economic growth, those inflationary pressures will recede and therefore I don’t have strong concerns about inflation,” the minister said.
