Colombian state oil company seeks to export natural gas surplus to Central America

Ecopetrol, the Colombian state oil company, is aiming to seek export markets for natural gas in Central America.

 

In the short term, gas production is due to increase by 410 million cubic feet per day, which is more than Colombia’s market can absorb.

 

Export markets are needed, and Panama appears to be a particularly interesting option.
