Colón Free Trade Zone seen recovering in 2016

Monday, February 17, 2014

Panama's Colón Free Trade Zone will take at least two years to recover from its current crisis, according to business leaders.

Last year, the zone moved $27.8 million worth of goods, a 13 percent drop compared to 2012.

The drop comes as a consequence of a $!.2 billion Venezuelan debt and hefty tariffs on goods re-exported to Colombia.
