Companies in pact with Nicaragua on telecoms

The Nicaraguan telecoms industry regulator, Telcor, was forced to reach a compromise concerning an administrative decree passed last month.

Representatives from the country's private sector stated that the decree was illegal and invasive, as it broke various telecoms laws. The decree required companies to have government permission for hiring company directors.

After debating with the private sector, Telcor decided to reach a compromise, where companies no longer need a government permit to hire directors, but should still notify about it.
