Construction begins at Guatemala port

Thursday, September 4, 2014

Construction of a new container terminal has begun at Guatemala's Puerto Quetzal, on the Pacific coast.

The firm in charge of the project, Grup TCB, expects the first phase of the improvements to be completed by the end of 2015.

“This is a magnificent opportunity to modernize Guatemala’s Pacific port and to be a logistical area in Central America," said Ángel Pérez Maura, vice president of Grup TCB.
