Consumer credit doubles in Honduras

Consumer credit has doubled over the past decade in Honduras, according to the country's central bank.

In 2005, consumer credit accounted for 35 percent of banks' portfolios, a figure that reached 53 percent last year.

The number of credit card users reached more than 384,000 last year, some 74,000 more than in 2012, the bank added.
