Costa Rica accounts office unhappy with telecom fund

Costa Rica's government accountability office is unhappy with the way in which the country's telecommunications national fund is handling its resources, the newspaper La República reported.

The fund is responsible for taking Internet and phone services to areas outside the capital city. Among the issues were the delays in the creation of a trust and weak debt control.

Last week, President Laura Chinchilla and some of the sector's business leaders also expressed their concerns about the delays.
