Costa Rica affected by high costs but slow growth

Costa Rica, known as the Central American Switzerland, is as expensive as Europe, but also one of the slowest growing countries in the region, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

During the first half of this year, economix activiy in the country grew just 1.2 percent, significantly lower than the 7.7 percent registered for the same period last year.

The drop was most notable in sectors such as trade, construction and agriculture.
