Costa Rica coffee exports surge 16.3 percent

Coffee exports from Costa Rica rose 16.3 percent in July compared with the same month last year, national coffee institute Icafe said.

Coffee shipments from the country, one of Central America's smaller producers, but known for its high-quality beans, totaled 113,074 60-kg bags for the month. Exports during the first 10 months of the current 2015/2016 harvesting season totaled 1.1 million bags, up 4.5 percent compared with the same period during the 2014/2015 crop.
