Costa Rica ends dumping charge by Sardimar against Calvo subsidiary in El Salvador

Thursday, November 4, 2010

After more than a year of conflict, the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica has dismissed a complaint relating to dumping and unfair competition put forward by the Costa Rican company Sardimar, against the subsidiary in El Salvador of Spanish tuna group Calvo.

At that time, the Ministry of Economy of Costa Rica began a dumping inquiry.

But a senior Salvadoran office said "there were no technical elements" to prove that Calvo was guilty of the charge.
