Costa Rica ends highway deal with Brazil's OAS

Costa Rica's Government compensated Brazil's OAS with $35 million for the termination of a highway expansion concession, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

There are now two proposals to finish the highway expansion, one which would seek to create a trust fund with the Costa Rican National Insurance Institute and pension operators.

The other proposal is to launch an international tender, which would allow for cheaper highway tolls.
