Costa Rica faces big problems of air pollution

Air pollution in Costa Rica frequently exceeds standards set by the European Union, the government and research institutions, say.

European Union sets a maximum limit of 40 micrometers of emissions per cubic meter, double the limit set byk the World Health Organization.

But some areas of the San José metropolitan area emit some 55 micrometers.
