Costa Rica has high hopes for WTO meeting

The Costa Rican minister for foreign trade, Anabel González, said she is optimistic that a World Trade Organization board members' meeting, to be held in December, will allow the international body to reinitiate Doha Agreement talks.

"We hope everyone's effort leads to a successful conclusion to the Doha round" she said. Talks for the accord, which aims for major reforms in international trading system, has been stalled since 2008.

The minister also said she will present Costa Rica's stance on agriculture, trade and development, the three major topics to be discussed at the meeting.
