Costa Rica hits business with some of the world's highest taxes

Costa Rica's government is about to impose a 40.5 percent tax on the sales of properties used for business purposes.

The new rate is to be imposed from July 1, and it will be one of the highest of its kind in the world. The assets most affected will be land and real estate, La República reports in Spanish.
