Costa Rica insurance market grows eightfold under deregulation

Since deregulation a decade ago, the Costa Rican insurance market has grown by more than right times its previous size.

The number of policies sold in the country has grown from 70 in 2018 to 710 last May. The number of policies issued has risen to 7.6 million.

Nowadays there are 13 insurance companies, 28 agencies, 19 brokers and 87 self-issuers.
