Costa Rica is the sole laggard in the Central American electricity system, Siepac

Monday, August 9, 2010

Costa Rica will be the laggard of the Central American Interconnection System (Siepac) as operations begin next year.

Most of the countries will be already connected to the 1,800-kilometer network by the last half of this year, but Costa Rica is going to close the final stretch late next year.

Of the six countries involved in the system, Costa Rica has made less progress than the others in the works that are needed for interconnection.
