Costa Rica launches new plan to end child labor

Wednesday, May 6, 2015

Costa Rica announced an initiative to get more than 40,000 children out of the workforce. The approach builds off previous efforts to reduce child labor and aims to eliminate the practice altogether by 2020.

If the program meets its goal for 2015, some 28,000 fewer children between the ages of 5 and 17 will be in the workforce.
