Costa Rica leads prosperity index

Costa Rica is first in Central America and 29th worldwide in the Prosperity Index, published by the UK's Legatum Institute.
Among nine indicators included in the Index, Costa Rica did best in personal freedom and governance.
Panama in 39 position globally has the second best score in the ishtmus, while Honduras is last, in 92nd place.
Norway is the most prosperous among 149 countries studied, while Yemen is last.
The index also measures economic quality, business environment, education, health, security, social capital and environment (number in brackets indicates each country’s position in the global index).
