Costa Rica leads region in access to markets
Costa Rica is the number one country in Central America in access to markets, according to the World Economic Forum's Global Enabling Trade Report 2012.
The main reasons that put Costa Rica at the top are the country's open-market policies and its simple tariff structure.
However, the report points out some of the country's weaknesses, such as its ineffective transport system and communications infrastructure.
