Costa Rica-Mexico trade and investment plummets

Trade and investment between Costa Rica and Mexico plummeted 57 percent in 2013, one year after both countries signed a trade agreement, Costa Rican daily La República reported.
The figure means Mexico now accounts for only 5 percent of foreign direct investment in Costa Rica, compared with 15 percent a year earlier.
Claro, a subsidiary of América Móvil, the telecoms firm of billionaire Carlos Slim, is the Mexican company with the highest investment in Costa Rica, with some $500 million.
