Costa Rica puts adventure tourism on map

Adventure tourism and sports have put Costa Rica on the map for international competitions.

Over the last five years, about 20 major events have been held in that country, such as the Transat sailing race. Costa Rica now plans to host international sport fishing and adventure competitions.

An estimated 72 percent of tourists that visit Costa Rica go to practice some sort of adventure sport.
