Costa Rica’s deal with China will lower consumer prices, but producers need help

Costa Rica’s exporters will find it difficult to sell in China, despite the advantages of the pending trade accord between the two countries.

But the accord will mean sharply reduced prices for many products favored by consumers.

Some Costa Rican producers will need to improve their efficiency levels in the face of the expected influx of imports from China.
