Costa Rica’s exports improve but still lag from levels before world crisis

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Costa Rica’s exports recovered from the sharp fall in 2009 as a result of the global economic crisis. But the levels reached in 2008 have yet to be regained.

From January through September this year, Costa Rica exported $7-09 billion of farm and industrial exports, a 9.1 percent increase on the same period of last year.

However, this year’s figure is 3.7 percent down on the first nine months of 2008.
