Costa Rica’s fiscal deficit grew by 21 percent in the first quarter

Costa Rica’s first-quarter fiscal deficit grew by 21 percent compared with the same period of last year.

The government, however, has slightly reduced its spending.

Finance Ministry statistics indicate that the fiscal deficit in March came to $626 million against the $517 million recorded in the same period of last year.
