Costa Rica’s Megasuper aims to compete with the mom-and-pop stores

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Megasuper, a Costa Rican chain of 80 supermarkets, is now aiming to compete with the nation’s mom-and-pop stores.

The format will be similar to Megasuper’s normal stores but in much smaller size and with many fewer product lines.

By the end of next year, the company will launch eight of the new stores for a total of more than $1 million.
