Costa Rica seeks petrodollar investors in Middle East

Costa Rica is aiming to attract investors from the Middle East, a region which has investments in the world for about $100 billion.

The main goal for Costa Rica would be to attract investment to boost sectors such as energy, finance, telecoms, agriculture, services and tourism.

The country has already established an open skies agreement with Qatar, while the President of Turkey, Abdullah Gul, proposed a free trade agreement after meeting with Costa Rican foreign minister Enrique Castillo.
