Costa Rica sees growth in life insurance policies

The number of life insurance policies in Costa Rica grew 8 percent year-on-year in the first half of the year, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

In 2012, life insurance policies accounted for 17 percent of the total insurance policies in the country.

However, the sector is still dominated by car insurance, with 36 percent, followed by fire insurances, with 22 percent of the market.
