Costa Rica sees stagnant construction next year

Costa Rica's construction sector is bracing for a slow performance in 2014, due to lack of planning, excess of processes and limited access to credit, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

However, the country's central bank is expecting the sector to grow almost 6 percent.

While housing construction will continue to supply demands, there is an oversupply of office space, which could become unsustainable if office building construction continues, said Aris Stamatiadis, general manager at Colliers International.
