Costa Rica sees strong competition in malls

Costa Rica's mall sector is becoming more competitive and attracting a higher number of shoppers, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

A new mall, operated by Ekono, is scheduled to open in Guadalupe on October 30, adding to the 7,000 commercial spaces available in the country.

Each month, between 450,000 and 750,000 people visit the country's large malls, such as Multiplaza de Escazú, Multiplaza Curridabat, Multicentro and Paseo de las Flores.
