Costa Rica still failing to cash in on $850 million on credits for roads
Tuesday, July 26, 2011
\
In one year, the government of Costa Rica has spent only $18 million of the $850 million credit facility from the Inter-American Development Bank that was earmarked for roads.\
\
In July of last year, legislators approved the use of the $350 million first tranche of the credit.\
\
The only project now underway, however, is the construction of nine bridges. Meanwhile, Costa Rica has some of the worst roads in the world.\
