Costa Rica to boost health services and economy

Costa Rica's Department of Social Security has requested from the government $5.4 million to carry out hospital expansions in rural areas of the country, Costa Rican daily La República reported.
The improvement of rural hospitals would help boost the economy by creating construction and refurbishing jobs in areas such as Siquirres and Acosta.
Another benefit expected from the project is that residents in San José will no longer have to compete with patients from other areas for medical services.
