Costa Rica tops Latin America in criminal justice

Costa Rica leads Latin America in the citizen perception of criminal justice, according to the Rule of Law Index, made by the World Justice Project.

The Central America country is ranked 25 among 102 countries around the world in the overall calification, that also qualifies absence of corruption, fundamental rights, order and security, regulatory enforcement and civil justice.

Panama is eight in the region, but Nicaragua was ranked penultimate. (numbers in parentheses indicates the position of each country in Latin America).
