Costa Rica: Work during holidays? No thanks

Thursday, August 1, 2013

Among Latinos, Costa Ricans tend make a sharp separation between work and leisure, according to a report on work / life balance, published in June by Regus, a European-based supplier of full-service offices.

In Costa Rica, 39% of employees work between one hour and three hours a day during vacations or days off, while only 18% work more than three hours daily.

This was the fifth lowest level of work among eight Latin American countries included in the published data, which did not include any other Central American country.

In Latin America, Peruvians work hardest while on vacation, and Ecuadorans work least (figures refer to the tendency to work on vacations and days off).
