Costa Rican construction sector crumbles

Costa Rica's construction sector could be facing a poor end of year, after sluggish growth during the first six months of 2013, Costa Rican newspaper La República reported.

From January to June, the sector saw a drop in projects of 500,000 square meters compared to the same period last year.

Representatives of the sector blame the slow performance on credit restrictions imposed by the Central Bank early this year.
