Costa Rican firms eye solar panels for cheap energy

High electricity costs in Costa Rica are making companies seek cheaper solutions with solar panels, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

The Universidad Iberoamericana is the latest institution to opt for solar panels, a move that will cut its energy spending by a third.

A small enterprise needs to spend some $10,000 for the solar equipment, however, companies such as Sibo Solar Energy offer financing where the firms pay about $116 each month.
