Costa Rican government plan aims to improve Internet access in remote areas

Friday, June 17, 2011

A government plan to extend broadband Internet access to remote areas of Costa Rica will include government subsidies for private companies.

The National Broadband Strategy also seeks to create awareness of the economic and social importance of broadband technology.

Key areas of the country in need of development must be identified, and then networking infrastructure will be boosted there once funding is secured.
