Costa Rican hotels report 62 percent occupancy boosted mainly by domestic tourism

Costa Rica's hotels reported 62 percent occupancy in December, a 6 percent growth compared with the same month a year earlier.

Beach hotels continued to be popular with tourists, with 67 percent occupancy, followed by hotels in the countryside, with 60 percent occupancy.

Most of the hotel rooms were booked by domestic tourists, however there was also a 4 percent increase in international tourists.
