Costa Rican president Laura Chinchilla reshuffles leading ministers

Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla appointed Carlos Ricardo Benavides as new minister of the presidency replacing Marcos Vargas who resigned on Friday.

Chinchilla also named Allan Flores, manager of the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, as the successor of Benavides to lead the Tourism Ministry. Benavides is a person with good management skills needed for the legislative procedure, Chinchilla said, adding that Benavides will also lead the Sports Ministry.
