Costa Rican president seeks investment from Arab potentates

The Costa Rican president, Luis Guillermo Solís, will this week be seeking investment in the United Arab Emirates, which wants to diversify its economy.

Per capita income in the Emirates amounts to about $43,000 a year, while it stands at $10,000 in Costa Rica. Meanwhile, only 20 other countries in the world have a regime that is more authoritarian as the Emirates, while Costa Rica rates highly in freedom indices.
