Costa Rican telecoms market going strong

Costa Rica's opening of the telecoms market five years ago has delivered positive results in terms of business and regulations, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

In just three years, cellular phone penetration went from 69 percent to 116 percent.

"What other countries took decades to develop, we have done in a few years," said the country's Foreign Trade Minister, Anabel González.
