Costa Rican women are narrowing the gender gap

Monday, October 10, 2011

Costa Rican women have greater access to education, health and political representation than do their counterparts in the rest of Central America.

By contrast, Guatemalan women have the lowest indicators in comparison with those of men.

Gender equality is fundamental to the economic development of a nation. The result can be improvements in productivity of 4 to 16 percent, according to the World Bank.
